B’s Golden Milk

Golden Milk is a healing, comforting and nurturing Ayurvedic drink.  It has been a part of Indian culture for centuries.  A lovely way to start the day and perfect in the evenings, Golden Milk has so many benefits as well as being delicious!  It is anti inflammatory, caffeine free, rich in antioxidants, helps digestion and is anti inflammatory. 

INGREDIENTS

MILK

If using dairy milk, always use full fat to help absorb every bit of goodness and reap the nutritional health benefits.  I would tend to also advise organic full fat. 

If using plant based milk - always check the ingredients and make sure there are no nasties lurking in the carton!

SPICES

You may like to add ¼ tsp of any of the following to your Golden Milk to suit your tastes and for added healthy benefits. They are packed with antioxidants and lots of healing benefits.

Ground Cardamom

Ground Cinnamon 

Ground Ginger

250ml Milk of your choice, preferably Almond, Oat or Coconut Milk

 (I use Rude Health Coconut Milk)

1 Cup of Water

1 Tsp Coconut Oil

½  Tsp Ground Turmeric 

¼ Tsp Ground Black Pepper (needed to activate absorption of turmeric)

1 Tsp Raw Honey or Agave Syrup or Maple Syrup


METHOD

Mix together in a saucepan, bring to a simmer and gently heat for 10 minutes.

Serve
